Helene Kazan, ‘Mark 1’ 2008, Concrete, Timber and Galvanised Steel Nails, The Working Rooms: ‘Art of Occupation’
‘My creative practice is rooted in drawing and the process of its translation into three
dimensional form. My work also aims to investigate and reflect personally relevant issues
of origin, occupancy, space and cultural growth. The simple ‘marks’ that collectively make
my piece for this exhibition, physically ‘marks’ out the territory it occupies in the gallery.’
Helene Kazan studied at Wimbledon School of Art and graduated with a First Class BA
Hons in Fine Art Painting. She is currently working on ‘Art of Occupation II’, a project
started in London 2008, which is to tour internationally.
